I'm a fan of Settlers and I think your game is great. The research mechanic is really cool and I"m excited to see the WIP features as they roll out. I played through the 0.2.10 version and have a few thoughts & suggestions:
  • It would be nice if the fog was adjusted to retain a memory of the terrain and resources even after a unit leaves the area, similar to what you typically see in strategy games 
  •  commanding soldiers to move or garrison seems not to work 100% of the time, I found i need to issue instructions a couple times and watch them for a moment to make sure they move
  • My woodcutters wiped out forests rapidly. Have you considered adjusting the balance between planks produced per tree cut down, say to two planks per tree for instance? Getting the forrester helps a lot but unlocking it take a bit of time.
  • I'd like to see an option to toggle the night/day cycle on and off. Sunrise and sunset look good but I find it's kind of difficult to see during dusk and nighttime
  • I noticed that carriers wait to go pick up an item until the carrier who dropped it off returns to their "home" location on their respective section of path. I'd suggest speeding this up by directing the carrier to start walking to pick up the item as soon as it's dropped off at the node.
  • Wheat farms take quite a long time to start producing. What do you think about speeding that up, maybe interspersing some harvesting with planting until the cultivated land area reaches its equilibrium?

That's a feature we really want to implement, but it's actually pretty hard to do in a 3d game. And unfortunately we haven't found a good solution yet.

Yes, that will happen. For now the forester can be researched faster. But there will be more balance tweaks in the process.

This seems a bit odd, they should not wait so long. Are you sure that it happens, or can you reproduce that behavior and maybe send us a short recording?
