Game crashed when loading from Quick Save

Hey guys,

I had the game crash once before when generating terrain, and I'm sorry  didn't keep that Player.log to help you. That time a simple <Alt>+<F4> closed the program.

This time, I'm attaching the Quicksave and the Player log and I had to Force Terminate it since it was pretty much stuck with the message loading resources.

Had a look at the log and it's a pretty nasty boom with a LONG debug symbol list... But ofc, could make heads or tails of it, eheheh

Cheers,
Gus

Hey guys,

Went back and did a test with pulseaudio connected and disconnected, just to make sure that it wasn't the issue and it stuck at the exact same place.

Funny things is, loading from save or a new game, it doesn't work now, so I'm at a stage where the game is unplayable...

Cheers,
Gus

Hey Gus,
that's real bad. It's not an error in the savegame (I've tried it on my laptop and desktop, and it works), it seems that this is a exception in the graphics driver.

I've found many reports that this comes from the mesa r600 driver.
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99349
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99299

https://github.com/godotengine/godot/issues/8700

I found some solutions which should fix this:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105371
https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/series/44315/

But sorry, I don't know how to apply them :-(

Hey,

can you please try to disable "Post Processing" and "Animate materials" in the settings and start it again.

Thanks,
Kevin

Now that you mention it, I do remember that I went to Options and pulled all graphics to LOW and I also did disable both "Post Processing" AND "Animate materials"

Because of you requesting to return to defaults because of the mouse issue, I completely forgot to disable all that.

I've turned all graphics to low, no shadows and disable both "Post Processing" and "Animate materials" and the game is working again!!

I'll have a look at your links to see what I'm able to do on my system according to those solutions.

Thanks very much for the effort and I'll report back, either here or in discord.

Cheers,
Gus
